Work Permit Only – Who is it for and what are the benefits

If you already have a KITAS/KITAP such as a Spouse KITAS/KITAP and are offered employment in Indonesia, your only option isn’t just obtaining a Working KITAS/KITAP, you could consider getting a Work Permit Only.

The Work Permit Only is not a visa, but a permit to work and can be applied to a pre-existing visa such as a Spouse KITAS.

This permit type is beneficial as it allows the bearer to keep their sponsor but have the capability to earn income. Please note, as it is a work permit, you will need to pay DPKK funds to the government.

The reality is you are more likely to keep your spouse than your employer, which is why this option has become more and more popular, particularly for those using Spouse KITAP.

Steps to get your Work Permit Only

1. Application of RPTKA
2. Notification to pay DPKK
3. Completion of Work Permit (IMTA)
