Lets Move Indonesia
Whether to visit for a holiday, family or kickstarting business in Indonesia, Lets Move Indonesia has the expertise and knowledge to make the most of your journey.
LetsMoveIndonesia was founded by Gary Joy a British expatriate back in 2015 and launched in 2016. As an expatriate himself, Gary grew tired of bartering, getting ripped off and general bad working practices of agents and agencies in Indonesia and set out to be different than the predecessors by introducing ethical business practices and transparent pricing. “As a westerner, I am not used to being charged different prices because of the colour of my skin, my nationality or how rich someone perceives me to be. I couldn’t believe that these business practices were normalized in both local businesses, as well as national agencies.
Whether it was making a company, renting a house, getting a visa, every time I needed assistance, I was getting different prices and varying levels of service.
I honestly didn’t have any intention of being involved in expatriate services, but as a problem solver at heart, I decided to fix the situation and improve the industry. I never expected that 7 years later we would have created the largest expatriate company in Indonesia!
Originally, I started fixing the property sector in Jakarta and collectively saved hundreds of people from getting scammed; over time we introduced more services starting with visa services, then moving onto legal services and finally tax and accountancy.
It was really important to me that we fixed pricing wherever we could and we are proud to have been the first agency in Indonesia to openly advertise the prices transparently.
We are also the only national agency in Indonesia to charge the same prices nationally (minus a few exceptions which are out of our hands). We don’t believe that because people in Jakarta are perceived to be richer, we should charge them more, just as much as we don’t try to exploit tourists in Bali.
I’m supremely proud of how we have single handedly changed an entire industry and if I am completely honest, I find it odd when people compare LetsMoveIndonesia to other agencies. We are nothing like them; our morals, values, ethics and forward thinking attitude are unparalleled. By standardizing our prices openly we set a bar for what prices should be in Indonesia.
Thankfully, most of competitors have copied what we do, unfortunately, many still rip people off by over inflating prices.
We are proud to be the market leaders of our industry and will continue to improve, expand and introduce more services across the country.”
During the Covid pandemic, many fake agents arose, many of them with no offices, business licenses or expertise. Many of these agents are making fake claims about: how long they have been in business, how many offices they have, how many staff they have, awards or titles they have obtained to name a few of the misconceptions being shared.
Many of our “competitors” are taking customers money and disappearing, others are doing bad work and others are going out of business weekly. If you obtain a visa and that “agent’ goes out of business you lose your sponsorship, and potentially documentation or personal information.
LetsMoveIndonesia is the largest agency in the country, backed with history and pedigree. We are the only agency that is consistently growing and we service thousands of people every single month.
You can be rest assured that your sponsorship and personal documentation is safe with us.
