Standard Visitor Visa UK

Visa United Kingdom

The UK Standard Visitor visa is a type of visa that allows individuals to visit the United Kingdom for tourism, business, or other short-term purposes. It has replaced several previous visa categories, including the Business Visitor visa, Family Visitor visa, and Student Visitor visa (for courses up to 6 months).

What is it and who is it for?

The UK Standard Visitor visa is a single visa category that replaced several previous visa categories in 2009. This streamlined approach simplifies the application process for visitors by offering a single visa option for a wider range of short-term stays. Previously, visitors needed to apply for specific visas depending on their purpose of visit, such as the Business Visitor visa for business trips, the Family Visitor visa for visiting family members, or the Student Visitor visa for taking short courses (up to 6 months). The Standard Visitor visa encompasses all these purposes and more, making it a more convenient and efficient option for visitors.
