96 Countries Can Enter With Indonesia Visa on Arrival

Based on the form Letter of the Director-General of Immigration Number IMI-0603.GR.01.01 of 2022 dated 28 April 2022, the Indonesian government has added more countries to a special tourist visa on arrival (VoA), which was previously for citizens from 89 countries. These countries can enter Indonesia through 9 airports, 11 seaports, and 4 Cross-Border Posts.

Update Visa on Arrival 2023

Indonesian Immigration added Kazakhstan as the 87th country allowed to use Visa on Arriva effective 18 January 2023. Kazakhstan is also can also use the e-VoA scheme to apply for Indonesia Visa on Arrival.

On 27 February 2023, Kenya and Rwanda were also added to the list of countries subject to Visa on Arrival. The addition made a total of 92 nationalities that are allowed to enter Indonesia with the Visa on Arrival.

As of April 2023, Indonesia included Panama, Guatemala and Macau on the list of countries subject to Visa on Arrival (VoA) through the Circular Letter Number IMI-0133.GR.01.01 Year 2023.

As of September 2023, The Indonesian government has expanded its Visa on Arrival and e-visa program by including Armenia, Mozambique, and Tanzania in the list of countries eligible for these travel options. This move aims to further promote tourism and facilitate entry into Indonesia for citizens of these nations. Travellers from Armenia, Mozambique, and Tanzania can now conveniently obtain their visas upon arrival or through the online e-visa application system, making their visits to Indonesia smoother and more accessible.

 

Visa on arrival update 2023

This regulation is an optimization of the Form Letter of the Director-General of Immigration Number IMI-0603.GR.01.01 of 2022 dated 28 April 2022, regarding Immigration Ease in Supporting Sustainable Tourism During the 2019 Corona Virus Disease Pandemic and effective as of May 30, 2022. In order to obtain the Visa on Arrival, foreigners must show a valid nationality passport for at least 6 (six) months, a return ticket or transit pass to another country, proof of payment for visa on arrival, and proof of ownership insurance at an insurance company with an Indonesian legal which includes health financing as long as the foreigner is in Indonesia’s territory.

You need to pay around IDR 500,000,- for a new Visa on Arrival with the exact fee for the extension. Visa on Arrival can be extended once for 30 days and carried out at the immigration office according to where the foreigner lives while in Indonesia. You need to note that Visa on Arrival is not transferable to other visas and foreigners who are proven to have misused their residence permits will be subject to immigration sanctions.

Apart from some tourism activities, you can apply for a Visa on Arrival for any government duties in international activities. For this activity, please note that you must attach an invitation letter to attend the conference/trial/meeting issued by the Ministry/Agency/Agency of the Republic of Indonesia.
